McCAIN JR., present CINCUSNAVEUR, who will be relieved by ADM Waldemar F.A. WENDT. The ADM appears to be deep in thought while seated in his chair. Lyman Louis Lemnitzer (August 29, 1899 – November 12, 1988) was born in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Waldemar Frederick August Wendt was born on March 15, 1912, in Millstadt, Illinois. He received his commission as Ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1933 and advanced to the rank of admiral in 1968.
